How Calories are Calculated

Our calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation, considered the most accurate standard for determining Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). Your BMR is the number of calories your body burns at rest to maintain basic vital functions like breathing and circulation.

The Formula (BMR):
For Men: (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) + 5
For Women: (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) - 161
